Detailed engineering

Detailed engineering

Detailed engineering is a critical phase that follows the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) stage. It involves transforming the conceptual designs and specifications developed during FEED into executable engineering plans.

At Alpheratz, we are qualified to support in the following areas:

 Design Development

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs): Finalizing detailed P&IDs that define the interconnections between equipment, instrumentation, and piping.
  • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs): Creating refined PFDs that illustrate the flow of materials through the system and highlight key processes.
  • Mechanical Design: Developing specifications for mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers, along with detailed designs for structures and supports.

Structural Engineering

  • Structural Analysis and Design: Performing detailed analysis of structures such as platforms, pipe racks, and support structures to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
  • Foundation Design: Designing foundations for equipment and structures, considering factors such as soil conditions and load requirements.

Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering

  • Electrical Design: Developing detailed electrical schematics, selecting appropriate power distribution systems, and specifying electrical equipment.
  • Instrumentation Design: Specifying instruments for measuring process variables (e.g., temperature, pressure, flow) and integrating them into the overall control system.

Civil Engineering

  • Site Layout and Grading: Finalizing civil designs for site layouts, grading plans, and drainage systems to ensure effective land use and environmental protection.
  • Road and Utility Design: Designing access roads, utility connections, and other infrastructure needed for the project.

Detailed Cost Estimation

  • Material Take-Offs: Generating detailed lists of materials required for construction, including quantities and specifications.
  • Refined Cost Estimates: Providing accurate cost estimates for all components, including labor, materials, and equipment, to inform budgeting and financial planning.

Procurement Support

  • Specification Development: Creating detailed specifications for procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring they meet design requirements.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Assisting in the evaluation and selection of suppliers and vendors based on technical capabilities and compliance.

Construction Planning

  • Construction Drawings: Producing detailed construction drawings and documents that guide the construction process, including fabrication and installation instructions.
  • Method Statements: Developing method statements that outline how specific construction activities will be carried out, ensuring safety and compliance.

Quality Assurance and Control

  • Inspection and Testing Plans: Developing plans for inspections and testing to ensure that materials and workmanship meet specified standards.
  • Documentation of Compliance: Maintaining records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Safety and Environmental Considerations

  • Hazard Analysis: Conducting hazard assessments to identify potential safety risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Environmental Management Plans: Preparing plans to manage environmental impacts during construction and operation.

Project Management

  • Schedule Development: Creating detailed project schedules that outline timelines for each phase of engineering, procurement, and construction.
  • Coordination with Stakeholders: Collaborating with various stakeholders, including contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment and address any concerns.
