
SENIOR PIPING ENGINEER
As a Senior Piping Engineer, you will:
- Perform Lay-out studies (Brownfield and Greenfield), Materials selection, Valve and Piping component specification, technical bid evaluations for Valves and Piping Long Lead items in an EPC environment or client role.
- Coordinate work tasks to the team (Designers/Engineers) to achieve required plan dates.
- Interfaces with other engineering disciplines
- Deliver Estimates and CTR development, negotiate and conflict resolution technical deviation/queries.
- Manage budgets, produce scope of work. Experience in managing budgets, setting project objectives. Creating and maintaining Piping MDR.
- Planning, Progress reporting and maintaining project plan, recognising changes from Client SoR/Project Scope of work (Change management) and highlighting impacts on cost/Schedule and plan.
- Be able to create and implement cost controls (Including Man-hour control).
- Managing, development and appraisal of the team/personnel, providing technical guidance and aid the development of colleagues.
Experiences & Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Piping Engineering or equivalent (e.g. HNC/HND with significant experience) in engineering discipline.
- EPC, Brownfield, and Greenfield Projects.
- Offshore and onshore Oil & Gas business but similar transferrable industries skills will be also considered in leu of specific O&G experience.
- Conceptual Study/FEED design, Detailed Design, Knowledge and Understanding of construction, Plant commissioning, operations and plant maintenance would be preferrable.
- Piping corrosion and erosion, Material standards, Material Mechanical testing and NDE and material certification is essential for the role.
- Valve and piping components and relevant codes and standards (for manufacture and testing) is essential and to be demonstrable.
- Generating and checking calculations against design codes and best practice.
- Specific piping drawings requirements/presentation, Working experience of 3D and 2D CAD Software’s, Knowledge of Design application/CATS&SPEC.
- Attained/ or working towards chartered or incorporated status with a recognised professional body.
- Good problem solving and analytical capabilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
